Real estate investor and manager Cromwell Property Group (“Cromwell”) has renewed and expanded the lease with leading financial services company Nationale-Nederlanden at Haagse Poort, The Hague in the Netherlands. Cromwell secured the lease on behalf of Cromwell European Real Estate Investment Trust (“CEREIT”).
Nationale-Nederlanden has renewed its current lease on 16,130 sqm of office space and has extended its occupation by a further 4,913 sqm.
Nationale-Nederlanden is a part of the Euronext-listed NN Group, an insurance and investment management company active in 18 countries, with a strong presence in a number of European countries and Japan. The group includes NN Investments, which has €260 billion under management from around the globe.
Haagse Poort, considered to be one of the most striking office properties in The Hague, comprises 68,502 sqm of high-quality office space and 1,033 parking spaces. It is also let to CB&I Nederland B.V. (McDermott), a multinational engineering, procurement and construction company.
The property is strategically located in Beatrixkwartier, which is the central business district of The Hague and one of the best-performing office areas within the Netherlands. The asset comprises 16 floors spread over four high-rise wings and three low-rise wings which are connected by a central archway over the A12 motorway.
Wouter Zwetsloot, Head of Benelux at Cromwell, said: “We are delighted that Nationale-Nederlanden has decided to renew its current lease and extend its occupation as it highlights the quality of this office asset and the service provided to tenants. As part of the deal, we have agreed to a range of asset improvement initiatives, such as upgrading the restaurant and high-rise entrance lobby, as well as installing additional charging points for cars and supplying 30 e-bikes.”
