Cromwell signs off-market lease with Aramco at Haagse Poort

Real estate investor and manager Cromwell Property Group (Cromwell) has, on behalf of Cromwell European REIT (CEREIT), signed a 10-year lease with Aramco Overseas Company B.V. (“Aramco Europe”) at Haagse Poort, The Hague in the Netherlands.

Aramco Europe will occupy 4,034 sqm of office space at the iconic 68,500 sqm Haagse Poort office building, whose striking seventh-floor arch straddles the Utrechtsebaan highway.

Aramco Europe provides a wide range of services to the Aramco global business, which includes portfolio management, technical services and overseeing its European supply chain. This year, Aramco Europe celebrates its 70th anniversary in the Netherlands, where it has held a formal presence since 1952 in The Hague.

Haagse Poort is located on the A12 highway in The Hague and has recently undergone a complete renovation to improve the tenant experience at the 16-storey building. This included the upgrade of the entrance and the installation of a new green area and restaurant, as well as enhancements to the elevators. In addition to excellent road transport links, it is 150m away from the Randstad rail station and has bus and tram stops outside of the building.

Ben ten Napel, Head of Asset Management Benelux at Cromwell Property Group, commented: “We are delighted to have signed a long off-market lease with a company of Aramco Europe’s stature. The length of the lease is particularly important, highlighting the quality of the renovation undertaken by Cromwell, which now meets the needs of a modern office workspace.

With this lease, there is now only 5% of the building available to further occupiers, showing the continuing strong demand for quality, modern office space in prime locations.”

Cromwell was assisted by COG Makelaars B.V. in collegial corporation with Spring Real Estate. Aramco Europe was assisted by Douwe Miedema.
