Real estate investor and manager Cromwell Property Group (Cromwell) has signed three new leases at Five55 in Rotterdam. Five55 is a 27-storey building on the Blaak 555 in the heart of Rotterdam, which Cromwell is extensively renovating. Completion is expected in May 2020.
Five55 is a true eyecatcher on the outside and will be completely renovated on the inside. The new restaurant and coffee corner on the ground floor will open up to the public. With a prominent location in the city the office floors offer fantastic views across Rotterdam and its landmarks, such as the Erasmusbrug and Markthal.
The three new tenants will lease a combined total of 6,300 sq m spread over 6 floors. Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) a global leader in shipping and logistics, will lease over 5,400 sq m on floor 10 until 13. MSC was advised by the Advisory & Transaction Services | Occupier team of CBRE.
Ralf Jacobs, Managing Director MSC commented: ‘This building is a unique opportunity for us to make a quality improvement for our employees in the workplace and working environment. We believe it is important that we remain located in the center of Rotterdam because of the facilities and good accessibility for our employees.’
Unifeeder and Breadbox Shipping Lines will have the best views of the city by leasing respectively the 26th and 27th floor. Unifeeder was advised by Parc Makelaars, Breadbox was advised by Ooms Makelaars Bedrijfshuisvesting (partner in Dynamis). Cromwell was advised by the Investor Leasing Team of CBRE together with de Mik Bedrijfshuisvesting during both deals.
Ben ten Napel, Head of Asset Management Benelux at Cromwell Property Group, commented: “We are pleased to already have signed three new long-term leases prior to the completion of the renovation. There continues to be strong tenant interest in the remaining floors which vary in size, highlighting the demand for high-quality office space in the centre of Rotterdam, which Five55 will provide.”
